The Havering Daily ULEZ consultation event held at Mardkye Community Centre- ‘We do not want ULEZ here,’ say Havering residents.
Yesterday, Tuesday 26 July the Havering Daily held its ULEZ consultation evening at the Mardkye Community Centre in south Hornchurch.
It was a very informative event where locals from across the borough came to ask our panel about important issues relating to the possible introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone and the impact it will have on people’s livelihoods here in Havering.
Thank you to all of you who attended and for sharing your views and very important concerns about ULEZ and how detrimental it will be for residents.
From the many stories we heard yesterday evening, it is very clear that the introduction of ULEZ across all outer London Boroughs will without a shadow of a doubt, cause many problems for those living and working in Havering and east London.
Thank you to our panel who came to answer many questions fired at them throughout the evening and for also stating that each one of them was against the ULEZ expansion.
Many thanks to Ken Jones from Jon Cruddas MP’s office.
Keith Prince GLA Member for Havering and Redbridge and Squirrels Heath Ward Councillor.
Trevor McKeever Mayor of Havering and Beam Park Ward Councillor.
Stephanie Nunn Deputy Mayor of Havering and Elm Park Ward Councillor.
Graham Williamson Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning and South Hornchurch Ward Councillor.
Judith Holt Chairman of Romford Conservatives and St Albans Ward Councillor.
Our panel did a fantastic job answering all the questions truthfully and sharing their concerns on this expansion.
It is very clear that the majority of residents living in Havering do not want or feel that it is justified to expand the ULEZ here in our borough.
If you would like to voice your objection against the ULEZ please email
cleanairyourview@tfl.gov.uk before the 29 July.

It’s an “inconvenient truth” that Sadiq Khan had the extension of the ULEZ in his election manifesto, so he is actually implementing an election promise. While I realise a politician actually doing what they promised is something of a novelty in recent years, anyone who did not bother to vote in the London Mayoral election really only has themselves to blame.
