A group of volunteer police cadets were on hand last Thursday 21 July to support residents who have lost their home in the horrendous Wennington blaze.

The group of teenagers and their instructor PC Anthony Kiddle visited the emergency rest centre that has been set up at Harrow Lodge Leisure centre to home all the families temporarily.

PC Kiddle told the Havering Daily:

“We paraded then went over to Harrow Lodge Leisure centre to help out. The cadets engaged with children, looked after pets, helped take down lists needed by council officials and generally engaged with people who had been through a really difficult time.

“Their support was much appreciated and they learnt a great deal from this experience as well.”

Well done to PC Kiddle and his fantastic team of cadets that are always out and about in our community providing much needed support during difficult times like these.
