Romford Mercury hosts entertaining dog show.

Who needs Crufts when we have the Mercury dog show!

The Mercury shopping centre recently hosted a fun charity dog show. The show was in aid of Wanderers Haven Animal Sanctuary and Scruffy’s Angels Lost And Found Pets, the event raised over £600 for the causes. Stuart Pink from Phoneix FM presented the family fun event along with dog show judge, and Mercury centre manager Spencer Hawken, David from Wanderers Haven and staff members from Wilko. The event was stewarded with the help of Louise from Foxash Fun Dog Shows and Emma from Scruffy’s Angels.

Centre manager Spencer told the Havering Daily:“ It was wonderful to see so many dogs and their owners attend on the day, with over 100 dogs the judging panel had some tough decisions to make!”

Dogs could enter up to three classes each, popular classes included cutest pup, appealing eyes and handsome prince. Each winning dog from the ten classes was then entered into ‘Best In Show’ which saw the winning pooch, eleven year old Charlie a cross border collie/ jack russell win a bumper hamper packed full of doggie delights from Wilko. Each participating dog was treated to a Mercury ‘That’s My Doggo’ rosette and tasty treats from Fish4Dogs. Local dog themed businesses attended on the day including Initially Yours, Dogaholic and I woof you boutique.

Are we barking mad to say we’re looking forward to the next dog show?
