‘A double whammy of Tory cuts to NHS funding means resources just aren’t there’.
Jon Cruddas MP highlights the on going issues with Urgent Care treatment at Queen’s Hospital.
The Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas is pointing the finger at the Tory government for their decade of systematic total under funding of the NHS which is now leading to problems in our health care system.
Recently, patients visiting the Romford hospital for urgent treatment have experienced very high level waiting times, and no seating facilities amongst other problems.
In response, Mr Cruddas told the Havering Daily:
“The A&E at Queens has been operating over capacity for years, a situation exacerbated by the closures to GP surgeries across the borough and the reduction of services at walk-in centres. There are lots of purpose-built facilities in the borough, such as South Hornchurch Medical Centre, with little to no services operating in them. After a double whammy of over a decade of Tory cuts to NHS funding and a global pandemic, the resources just aren’t there. More needs to be done to reinstate smaller community-based services to reduce the mounting pressure on Queen’s Hospital.”
