Man arrested after drink driving and found in possession of drugs, a firearm and knife in Collier Row.
A man is currently in police custody after failing to provide a breath test and then found in possession of Class A drugs, a firearm and a lock knife yesterday afternoon.
Police received reports of a man drink driving on Collier Row Road at 5:30pm and stopped the vehicle immediately. The suspect failed to provide a breath test and when his vehicle was searched, found with drugs, a firearm and a lock knife.
A spokesperson for the Met told the Havering Daily: “Police were called at 17:30hrs on Tuesday, 7 June to reports of a man drink driving in Collier Row Road, Romford.
“Officers attended and stopped the vehicle.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen of breath.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a firearm and Class A drugs.
He was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of Class A drugs.
He was taken to an east London police station where officers found he had a lock knife in his possession. He was further arrested on suspicion of an offensive weapon.
He remains in custody. Enquiries continue.”
