Coaches and staff from Tigers Juniors Football Club were shocked to find the containers that held children’s kits and other equipment, had been broken into and stolen. The incident is believed to have happened on Wednesday 18 May at the containers based at Bretons in South Hornchurch.
Coach of the under 10’s Vishal told the Havering Daily: “We are the largest girls club locally and and have just under 100 children every Saturday morning. We have about ten pitches in use every week with different games and now our kits have gone.
“We were told Thursday (May 19) morning that the containers where we keep all the kits and other equipment we use, had been broken into and our stuff had been stolen.”
Tigers JFC are a grassroots club that plays a big part in our community, not only training so many children every week, but also undertaking charity work to help local organisations.
Vishal added: “Both Keith and Lisa who have been running Tigers for over 20 years do so much for our community. They are a selfless pair who always put the community and its needs first. If anyone saw anything or has any information on this theft, please let the police know. It has been a challenging couple of years with pandemic and now this.”
A Go Fund Me has been set up to help the club buy new kits and equipment. If you would like to donate, please see the link below.
