24 year old man arrested following Romford rape.

Detectives investigating an allegation of rape in Romford have made an arrest.

On Sunday, 6 March a 49-year-old woman reported that at about 02:30hrs the same day, she had been raped in Angel Way.

An investigation was launched and a media appeal was issued on Monday, 11 April.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape after attending a police station on Wednesday, 13 April. He was taken into custody and later released under investigation.

Police continue to provide the victim with specialist support and enquiries are ongoing, led by detectives in the East Area Command Unit.
