VIDEO: Anti knife crime campaigner donates Havering’s first bleed kit.
Julie Taylor from the Liam Taylor Legacy donates Havering’s first bleed kit to the Mardyke community centre.
Havering was donated its first bleed kit yesterday Monday 4 April, by anti knife campaigner Julie Taylor who lost her grandson Liam, to knife crime. Julie visited the Mardyke community centre in South Hornchurch to hand the vital life saving kit over to community champion Ross Elliott and Lesley from the centre.
This is the first bleed kit to be installed in Havering and is much needed at the south Hornchurch centre as they are a focal point for the community and open long hours.
Julie was also joined by Sergeant Jane Collard from East Area police who came to support the local community.
The kits are from the Daniel Baird Foundation and approved by the London Ambulance Service and much needed across all key areas in our community.
Julie spends her days fund raising to buy as many of these bleed kits as she can so that a person’s life could potentially be saved. Too many teenagers are losing their life to knife crime and dying on our streets. The use of these bleed kits could save a life and stop another family from going through the horrors Julie and her family live through everyday of their life since Liam’s death.
