Man charged with attempted murder after restaurant stabbing.


A man has been charged with attempted murder as part of an investigation into a stabbing at a restaurant in Newham.

Sriram Ambarla, 23 (05.11.98), of no fixed address, was charged on Sunday, 27 March. He appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 March. 

Police were called at 14:22hrs on Friday, 25 March, to a report of a stabbing on Barking Road, Newham.

Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a woman, aged in her early 20s, with stab injuries. She was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious, but stable, condition.
