On Friday 18 of March the Holy Hindu festival of Holi was celebrated. Holi is the festival of love and colours and celebrates the eternal love between Radha and Krishna.

Here in Havering, Mayor Councillor John Mylod was joined by former Mayor and Mayoress and well respected Councillors, Dilip and Nisha Patel at the Hindu temple in Noak Hill.

The colourful celebrations also represent the start of the spring and summer seasons and brings so much needed love and happiness to our streets.

Counillor Dilip Patel told the Havering Daily:

“I was very pleased to be able to join these amazing celebrations at the local temple with my wife and Havering Mayor. This is a beautiful festival and marks the start of the summer season.”
