Harold Hill mum struggles to buy milk as supplies sent to the Ukraine.

A Harold Hill mum is struggling to buy milk for her 5 month old after finding many supplies have been sent to the Ukraine. The mum who did not wish to be named, told the Havering Daily: “I totally understand why people are helping families in the Ukraine, but last week I went to my supermarket and all the milk had gone. When I asked the staff where the milk was, the lady told me they had put out seven trays and a man had arrived and bought all seven! I agree with helping others, but can we remember that there are mums here too that need to buy milk and leave us some.”

The mum says that she has been struggling badly for the last three weeks to find milk and even before things had started to get harder.

“It has been going on for a while. I have been trying to find a reason why it should be like this, but I can’t seem to find one. But now, over the last three weeks, it has been particularly bad. Most of the major shops such as Boots where we buy the milk from don’t have any on the shelf and it is out of stock on line. Myself and other mums are literally going all across the borough to try and buy our milk. Some mums I know have even had milk sent in from other areas as it is so bad around here.”

The mum has now got her child on two different types of milk in a bid to make the milk buying issue easier. “If I can’t find one brand, then at least I can use another. It really has become an issue. I have nothing against helping families in war situations but people need to understand that there are many mums here who also need milk for their children.”
