‘This is an unprovoked and unjustifiable attack’-Jon Cruddas MP.

Dagenham and Rainham MP Jon Cruddas today shares his views on the situation in the Ukraine.

Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine is unprovoked and unjustifiable and now constitutes a full-scale military invasion. This action is a grave breach of International Law which I completely condemn alongside my colleagues in the Parliamentary Labour Party.  

The UK must work with NATO and the EU to ensure that the hardest possible sanctions are taken against all those linked to Putin and against the Russian government’s interests. NATO have been clear that whilst support will be given, troops will not be sent – a position which I agree with. It is vital that in the coming days NATO allies, including the UK, work in a coordinated and unified way to deliver the severest possible consequences for the Putin regime.
