Yesterday Friday 11th February, a Joint Partnership Day of Action took place in Havering involving British Transport Police, Met Police Special Constables, Safer Transport Team, Safer Neighbourhoods Officers, Street Duties Officers and Revenue Officers. This was a large scale high visibility operation with over 50 officers deployed at various points through out the afternoon and evening. Officers were deployed in locations across Harold Hill, Farnham Road, Briar Road and also at Harold Wood, Gidea Park and Romford BR Station’s.

Further to this a local secondary school was also attended, and with support of the staff, approximately 300 students exited passed the drugs dog with only two indications made by the dog and both resulted in negative searches.

The aim of yesterday’s operation was to disrupt the supply of drugs into the borough through the public transport systems, as they are a blight on the community and often linked to organised crime and violence on our streets.
