Today Angelina Leatherbarrow prospective Labour candidate for Rush Green and Crowlands, writes in the Havering Daily.

I have a 9 year old and a 6 year old daughter both of them already know that if you do something wrong, its better to tell the truth, because lying about it, just makes it worse. It seems my daughters have a better sense of what it right, than the man running the country at the moment.
As we head in to another week of Tory sleaze, dishonesty and corruption, we will see him throw every dead cat he can find at us. Escalating war, hastily dumping Covid precautions (1837 people died last week) and I don’t doubt he will throw something about Brexit in there too. His ministers and MP’s will do all sorts of desperate mental gymnastics to save his bacon and try to keep their own power.
I’m sick of hearing about the parties and cake too. But I’m sick of hearing about it because it actually shows us what they are really all about. Its one rule for them and another for the rest of us. Comments like “he was ambushed by cake” and “he didn’t rob a bank” show absolute contempt for the British people and they take us for idiots that are only useful on voting day. They are public servants, not above us or better than us.
The Queen understands public service. She sat alone at her husbands funeral when none of us would have been offended if she had her close family with her. Our elected leaders need a lesson from her in what duty truly means.  Now they have drawn the Metropolitan police in to their sleaze. Regular police officers who have seen their numbers cut, funding cut and morale on the floor, Johnson has pulled them in to this whole mess. Taking them for fools along with us and wasting police time trying to evade public scrutiny.  Johnson and his cabinet should just acknowledge that the party is over. Their grift is over, no one likes that last straggler who hangs around at a party when it’s clearly time to go home whilst someone else clears up the mess.
