Olive and her aunt raise over £1000 for children in hospital by baking Christmas cookies.

Eight year old Olive and her aunt Laura Low from Rainham have delivered boxes of toys to children spending Christmas in hospital.

The two community champions have baked a whopping 424 Christmas cookies in just four days to raise money to buy toys for children and have raised an incredible £1050.

Laura told the Havering Daily:

“Every year I like to embark in task to raise money for charity. So this year I asked Olive what she wanted to and she replied with bake Christmas cookies!

“We had hope to raise a few hundred pounds but were shocked when we saw we had raised over £1000.”

Laura and Olive set about baking over a hundred cookies a day that they sold in batches of five and began to sell them to the community.

They were shocked to learn that they had raised over £1,000 for children.

The two local stars then donated the toys to Queen’s Hospital, Haven House Children’s Hospital and Mitchell’s Miracles a local charity that looks after children with Cancer.
