A special thank you to Poppy sellers for their hard work during a difficult year.
Elm Park councillor Stephanie Nunn today writes in the Havering Daily:
On Sunday evening 17 October, a special thank you evening for Poppy collectors and helpers was arranged by Joanne White, Poppy Appeal Organiser at the Elm Park Branch of the Royal British Legion.
Certificates were given to members who had achieved ten years of selling poppies and raising money for the appeal.
Joanne thanked everyone who made a contribution towards the Poppy Appeal in a particularly challenging last year. She advised that in spite of this, almost £20,000 was raised, just under half of the year before, but quite remarkable in the circumstances.
Councillor Barry Mugglestone praised the work done by Joanne and the team and asked for volunteers to come forward.

We all enjoyed the evening during which a buffet and live music were enjoyed after the presentations.
