Special Olive tree planted in Elm Park to remember those who died from Covid.

A special Olive tree was planted on Wednesday 13 October at St Nicholas’ Church in Elm Park to remember all those who lost their life to Covid and all those who cared for Covid patients.

A service was held at the church by Rev Amanda, Father Tom Keighley, and Rev Ken from St Albans.

After the communion service, the congregation proceeded to the front garden of the church for a short service of dedication.
Also present at the service was Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospital Trust Chief Nurse Kathryn Halford OBE, Nick Bracken OBE and the borough’s Deputy Lieutenant and Councillors Stephanie Nunn and Barry Mugglestone.

There will be benches installed in the area for the community’s quiet reflection.

Councillor Stephanie Nunn thanked St Nicholas’ Church for the initiative and for inviting everyone to the service. As usual there was lots of cake afterwards.
