East Area police conduct test purchase operation to catch out retailers selling knives to teenagers.

Well done to East Area police officers whose Task Force Team conducted a ‘Test Purchase Operation’ at different locations across Havering,Barking and Dagenham and Redbridge.

Under age testers were sent out to purchase knives from local retailers.

The results were as follows:

Four outlets sold knives.

Four outlets asked for identification.

Two shops no longer sell knives after previous visits from the Police.

These patrols will continue to target knife crime on the streets of Barking and Dagenham and the rest of East Area.
