All Champion’s Charity have organised a special debate tonight at Valence library, Becontree, between our youth and the police to encourage good links between the two groups.

The event has been organised by Peguy Kato who runs All Champion’s Charity following the death of her son Champion to knife crime in 2013.

The bereaved mum has dedicated her life in helping other families who have lost children to knife crime and talking to youngsters to deter them from carrying knives.

The meeting has been organised to help build positive links between our youth and the police to help promote trust and confidence between the two sides.

Gangs and Youth Engagement officers from East Area Command Unit will be attending alongside frontline officers to talk openly about the challenges they face and to hear the youth talk about the concerns they have.
