Police officers and member of the public injured as man is detained on Orchard Village estate.


Three police officers and member of the public were injured today on the Orchard Village estate in south Hornchurch.

They had attended the estate to arrest a man who is believed to have become violent and injured the three officers and a man.

A police spokesperson told the Havering Daily:

“Police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to Orchard Village Estate, Rainham today at 11:45hrs to reports of officers and a member of public being injured.


“Upon arrival, three officers and a member of public were found injured.


“The officers received minor injuries.


“A man aged in his 20’s was arrested at the scene and taken to an east London police station.


“Prior to this incident, an officer was making a planned arrest at an address in the same area and was then assaulted.”


Enquires are ongoing.
