Appreciation packages handed out to Queen’s and King George’s staff to say thank you.

Now that Sugar Whatson’s children are grown up, she has dedicated her life to raising money for worthwhile causes and in particular supporting our NHS staff which need the help more than ever.

The Newham mum has been spending her time making up special appreciation packages to donate to the staff at Queen’s and King George’s hospital to say thank you for the amazing work they are doing keeping our community going.

Sugar told the Havering Daily: “I have been making appreciation packages that consist of toiletries, some snacks and a little appreciation note to show our NHS staff how grateful we are for the incredible work they are doing.

Sugar’s appreciation packages,

“I started doing this at the start of the pandemic in March last year and have carried on doing it now. The staff at the hospitals don’t just work during a pandemic, they work 365 days a year and really need so much more appreciation than they are currently receiving.”

Sugar is an amazing lady with a big heart who has always supported others.

She continued: “Ever since I was child I always wanted to help others and have raised money for charities. Now that my children are grown up I often go into mental health wards and play games with patients.

“It is nice to be kind and give out kindness. I call it sprinkling some sugar magic with my sugar magic wand!”.

Sugar is a real community hero!
