East Area Command Officer charged with two sexual offences.

Detective Sergeant Benjamin McNish of the East Area Command Unit, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Friday, 17 July.

He is charged with the following:

1) On Monday, 18 February 2019 at Adelaide Road, NW3 did observe a person doing a private act Contrary to section 67(1) and (5) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

2) On or before Monday, 18 February 2019 possessing extreme pornographic image contrary to s.63(1) Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008.

The arrest and charge follows an investigation by the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards.

The officer was not on duty at the time of the alleged sexual offence.
