Two twelve-year-old boys have run 30km to fundraise for Havering Association for People with Disabilities and have left the HAD team overwhelmed by how much they have raised and their amazing motivation.
Jacob Kelly and Oliver Burley who both attend Emerson Park school in Hornchurch have completed the challenge to raise funds for the charity and to challenge themselves.
They decided to run 1 kilometre for every £10 donated. They capped it at 30km as Jacob broke his leg and tore his ligaments in January and the boys wanted to make sure they would finish the distance. They have raised over £300 and have completed the distance over two days.
A spokesperson for the charity told the Havering Daily: “Havering Association for People with Disabilities are extremely grateful for these young men completing this challenge as all our other planned fundraising activities have been cancelled or put on hold due to Coronavirus.
“Their fundraising and supporters donations will go towards us continuing to deliver a service and activities to our clients living in Havering”
