Man assaulted in South Hornchurch

A man has been beaten with bats and clubs in a brutal assault in south Hornchurch in broad daylight.

Police were called at approximately 19:15hrs on Monday, 4 May to reports of a man assaulted in South Street, South Hornchurch.

A witness told the Havering Daily:

“I saw six guys attacking the young lad. They were all armed with bats and golf clubs and were hitting him all over his body.

“Once he was unconscious they ran away. I tried to help the lad but he just wanted to leave. As he walked away he just collapsed to the ground again.”

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene, where the man received treatment.

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.
