Last week Councillor Bob Perry left the Conservative party stating that the council leader was a ‘tyrant’ and ‘bully’.
Councillor Perry is now currently standing as an independent councillor.
When you are an independent councillor the law states that as you are not affiliated to a party you are not eligible to sit on any committees.
Councillor Perry has so far not been sacked as the chairman of the Crime group or the Licensing Group but at the next full council the group will select a councillor who is eligible to stand as chairman.
Leader of the Council Councillor Damian White told the Havering Daily: “Councillor Perry is ineligible to sit on a committee as he is now an independent councillor.
“At the next full council meeting, the council will elect someone who is eligible.“
