Rainham lights switch on a magical atmosphere.
The lights in Rainham were switched on last night in a very magical atmosphere.
Between three to four hundred people gathered by the War Memorial to join in the Christmas festivities. Children held lanterns as the parade arrived.

Members of Frozen led the parade and then gathered on the stage alongside Rudolph the Reindeer and Frosty the snowman.
Father Christmas then made a very special appearance to the delight of all the children and switched the lights on.

The event was organised by Sue Ospreay and other members of the Rainham Association of Village Events and attended by local Councillors Graham Williamson, Natasha Summers and Stephanie Nunn.

Sue Ospreay told the Havering Daily:
“It was a fantastic evening and went very well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the children had a magical time.”
