Dean Wade 35 years old of Somerset Gardens, Hornchurch has today pleaded guilty to seven offences at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
One of the offences Wade was charged with was the theft of a black Ford Fiesta belonging to Sharlene Tees.
Sharlene became Havering’s hero after locating her own stolen car and challenging Wade to get her phone and other belongings back. She located her stolen phone through an app and went to the address where her phone was at and then confronted Wade to get some of her possessions and car back.
Sharlene told the Havering Daily:
“I can’t simply put into words how I feel hearing the words ‘he pleaded guilty‘.
“I have got justice and I helped put this monster away! Makes me feel happy knowing he is where he belongs and I’m going to be having the best Christmas knowing he has finally been made accountable for what he thought he would get away with.
“My advice to anyone else is don’t give up, and make sure your story is heard! Because if I didn’t then, this man would already have moved on to his next crime and next victim.”
