Fire Crews at the Bengal Spice

Twenty five firefighters and four fire engines attended a fire at the Bengal Spice restaurant, in New Road, Rainham on Monday 26th of August.

Fire crews were called at 7.45 pm to the empty single storey building that has damaged the floor level and roof.

The fire was under control by 9.23 with crews from Harold Hill, Dagenham and Barking all attending. The cause of the fire is not known as yet and is under investigation.

Owner of the property Mr KS Judge told the Havering Daily, ‘The building has been left empty for nearly a year now. A friend called me to tell that it was on fire.

The people who were running it, just left one day without letting me know, they ran away and now it has been left empty.’

The investigation continues.
