Every day, police officers face a barrage of labels. They’re told they’re too lazy, too overweight, not proactive enough. They are expected to enforce new initiatives, many of which are things they’ve been doing for years. Officers often feel like political tennis balls, thrown from one side of the court to the other, unsure which instruction to follow
Communities are fed up of seeing the horrendous rise in shoplifting, knife crime, burglaries to name a few. But are our officers now actually too scared to their job in fear of so many reprisals?

So, a lot of residents are taking to social media to express their fears and their concerns, or they’re compacting on us as councillors to express it. But there isn’t necessarily a wave of bringing that all together to show the community how it feels as a whole. I want to work with people to create a platform for residents, so that the residents can be heard, in an environment where all the important people are there.
