Successful LGBTQ+ Film Festival Held At Lumiere Cinema.

Last weekend, March 15 and 16 at the Lumiere Cinema in Romford,  saw the success of the second East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival. The festival has grown significantly since its launch in 2023 with a second day of film, musical performances, and stylised photoshoots available for attendees.

Ward councillors for Beam Park that covers the Orchard Village estate, have been working tirelessly to help resolve the ongoing water issues residents living on the estate have faced. Councillors Trevor McKeever and Matthew Stanton have been working with residents living on the estate since the issues began. Residents have faced water supply problems, including being left without water for 24 hours.

Romford Masterplan Adopted By Cabinet Despite Residents Unhappiness At More Tower Blocks Going Up.

Residents had objected to the building of more tower blocks across Romford stating that the area had already declined and had lost its historic feel. Although parts of the masterplan were agreed with, the biggest anger was that the area, already blighted with tower blocks, would see more going up.

On Sunday 9 March, Sue Hedges from the Ricky Hayden Memorial donated a Daniel Baird bleed bag to the Deers Rest Pub. Sue, who lost her son Ricky to knife crime in 2016, has been donating vital life saving bleed kits to many organisations across Havering, London and parts of Essex in a bid to save as many lives as she can.
