Fresh concerns have been raised across Havering after groups of masked youths were seen gathering in Hornchurch, with incidents of anti social behaviour once again putting residents on edge.

Witnesses reported a bus stop being damaged, while large groups of masked youths were seen riding bikes on pavements, weaving through traffic and acting in a way many described as intimidating. Some were also seen without helmets, with passengers riding on the back, raising further safety concerns.

Residents said the behaviour has led to some youths being described as “feral”, reflecting the level of frustration and concern within the community.

Police responded quickly, arriving in numbers and issuing a Section 35 dispersal order to clear the area. Officers remained on scene to manage the situation and reassure the public.

There were also reports of some youths shouting at officers. One witness said they were heard taunting police, shouting “come catch me then”, highlighting the challenges officers face when dealing with fast moving groups across different locations.

Residents say they are becoming increasingly frustrated, with some choosing to avoid going out during certain times of the day due to the behaviour being witnessed on local streets.

Despite this, Havering Police continue to take strong and proactive action. Increased patrols, dispersal orders and targeted operations are all being used to tackle the issue and disrupt those responsible.

As the Easter holidays begin, officers are expected to step up their presence even further, focusing on known hotspots and working to prevent further incidents.

Police are urging residents to continue reporting any anti social behaviour, stressing that information from the public is vital in helping them build intelligence and take effective action.

While the situation remains challenging, the response from police is clear. They are actively working to protect communities and bring this behaviour under control.
