Shocking footage has emerged showing masked youths in Romford attacking others, sparking fresh concern across Havering.

The video, sent to the Havering Daily, taken just two days ago, highlights what many residents say has become a growing and deeply worrying issue on local streets. Groups of youths, often dressed in similar tracksuit clothing and wearing face coverings, are being linked to incidents of intimidation, robbery and violence.

Residents say they are fed up.

Many are now reporting that young people themselves are too scared to go out wearing trainers, jackets or carrying phones in fear of being targeted. The fear is not just among adults but increasingly among teenagers who feel vulnerable in their own communities.

The footage has reignited anger, with locals saying the behaviour is becoming all too common and unacceptable.

Despite this, police across Havering have been taking strong and visible action. Officers have increased patrols, introduced preventative measures and focused efforts on known hotspot areas in a bid to tackle crime and anti social behaviour head on.

Their message remains clear. They are committed to protecting residents and taking action against those responsible.

However, as enforcement increases in one area, incidents can shift to another, creating ongoing challenges for officers working across the borough.

While many residents have praised the police response and the pressure being applied, frustration remains that these incidents are still happening.

Police continue to urge the public to report all incidents, stressing that every report helps build the intelligence needed to target offenders and keep communities safe.
