Beam Park Station Gets The Green Light To Be Built.
The pressure from the local community alongside the campaign by Dagenham and Rainham MP Margaret Mullane has brought about the green light for the much needed and promised station at Beam park.
The government has now confirmed a new Beam Park rail station will be accommodated within the existing rail network, and all key stakeholders are working to assemble the funding to deliver it. With this forward step the government’s New Homes Accelerator has been working diligently alongside the GLA, Department for Transport and both Barking and Dagenham and Havering, to unlock the next phase of development. With the green light for the station comes a green light for the next 1,500 homes to be built.
Margaret told the Havering Daily: “I know from my meetings with the Rail Minister, London Deputy Mayor for Transport and the GLA that significant progress has been made to deliver the station at Beam Park.
From my work on this to undo the block put on the station by the previous government and from the firm assurances given to me, the promise given to residents will be honoured and the much needed station will happen.
The station will not just serve the residents of the new homes it will also unlock massive investment in new businesses and jobs for our area.”
