HRA councillors and team members have visited the Gallows Corner flyover site to review progress and speak directly with contractors, as the major infrastructure project remains on track for completion at the end of April.

The visit gave local representatives the opportunity to see first-hand the scale of the works currently underway and to better understand how the project is progressing on the ground.

Those attending from the Havering Residents Association included Cllr Philippa Crowder, Cllr John Crowder, Cllr Barry Mugglestone, Cllr Stephanie Nunn and Cllr Paul McGeary, along with Jan Sergeant and Rose Dawson.

They were met on site by key members of the project team, including Jordan Kirk, Senior Construction Manager, Marcus Hollan from Costain and Mike Dowding, TfL Project Manager.

During the visit, discussions focused on the progress made so far and the final stages of the project. Contractors confirmed that works remain on schedule, with the flyover expected to be completed by the end of April.

Cllr Philippa Crowder said: “It was really valuable to be on site and see the progress for ourselves. This is a major project for Havering and one that residents have been keen to see completed. We were reassured to hear that everything remains on track for completion at the end of April, and we will continue to keep residents updated as the project moves into its final stages.

The Gallows Corner flyover project has been a key focus for the borough, with the upgrade expected to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at one of Havering’s busiest junctions.

Images from the site show significant structural work already completed, including steel framework and support structures, highlighting how far the project has progressed.

Residents in the area have been closely following developments, with many eager to see the benefits of improved connectivity once the flyover is fully operational.

HRA representatives said they will continue to monitor progress and engage with contractors to ensure the project is delivered as smoothly as possible for residents.
