The hospice is specifically asking for pairs of identical, stuffed orange hearts, measuring approximately 4 inches high by 4 inches wide. These small but meaningful items are used to provide comfort and connection during incredibly difficult times for patients and their loved ones.

Only orange hearts will be accepted as part of this appeal, and contributors are free to use their own patterns. Donations can be either knitted or crocheted, making it accessible for crafters of all skill levels to get involved.

St Francis Hospice, based in Havering-atte-Bower, provides vital care and support for people facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for their families. Appeals like this rely heavily on community generosity and play an important role in enhancing the care and comfort patients receive.

Those wishing to contribute are asked to send their handmade hearts to:

St Francis Hospice
The Hall
Havering-atte-Bower
Romford
Essex
RM4 1QH

Donors are also asked to include their name and email address or home address inside the package so the hospice team can send a thank you in return.

With demand ongoing, every pair of hearts made and donated will make a difference.
