A missing dachshund has been safely reunited with his owners after a remarkable and heartwarming chain of events involving three escaped piglets at Happy Acres Animal Sanctuary.

Little Paddy had been missing since Saturday 7th March, leaving his owners desperately worried.
Despite numerous social media appeals and posters distributed throughout the local area, there had been no sightings for several days.

The breakthrough came yesterday morning thanks to an unexpected twist.

Three little pigs had escaped at Happy Acres Animal Sanctuary, prompting owner Claire and her daughter to head out to look for them. While searching the grounds, Claire spotted something small and furry drinking water in the horses’ stables.

Curious, she went to investigate and discovered the mystery visitor was none other than Paddy.

It appears the clever little dachshund had somehow managed to make his way to the aptly named Happy Acres, likely in search of food, water and safety.

Claire quickly contacted Shantel from Harold Hill Deer Aid, who was able to trace Paddy’s owners and arrange a joyful reunion.

Apart from losing a little weight during his adventure, Paddy was otherwise healthy and delighted to be back home where he belongs.

In a fairy-tale twist, it seems the rescue had all the elements of a storybook ending three little pigs escaping, a Red Riding Hood moment as Claire went searching for them, and the “wolf” turning out to be Paddy in a dachshund costume.

A huge thank you goes to Claire and her daughter at Happy Acres Animal Sanctuary, and Shantel from Harold Hill Deer Aid, for helping bring Paddy safely home.

Missing Paddy.
