Dedicated Rainham PCSO Marks International Women’s Day With Safety Stall For Local Women
On Sunday 8 March, much respected Rainham PCSO Julia Bates marked International Women’s Day by hosting a special community safety stall at Tesco in Rainham, offering advice and support to local women.
Running from 12pm, the stall provided important information on personal safety and ways women can help protect themselves while out in the community. Many shoppers stopped to speak with PCSO Bates, ask questions and pick up advice.

PCSO Bates is widely known in Rainham for her dedication to the local community and her commitment to supporting residents. Her work on the day highlighted the vital role neighbourhood officers play in engaging with the public and helping keep communities safe.
Throughout the afternoon, she spoke with numerous residents, sharing practical safety guidance and encouraging women to feel confident about reporting concerns or seeking help when needed.

PCSO Bates’ initiative reflected the positive relationship between neighbourhood policing teams and the residents they serve, demonstrating once again how proactive engagement can help build trust and support across the community.
