A Fairytale Comes to Life at Romford Town Hall as Havering’s Mayor Hosts Magical Princess Ball

A Fairytale came to life at Romford Town Hall! Havering’s Mayor hosted a Magical Prince and Princess Ball where pure joy filled Romford Town Hall on Saturday. Havering’s fantastic Mayor, Councillor Sue Ospreay, transformed the historic venue into a breathtaking fairytale setting for a magical Princess Ball for local children.

Nearly 100 youngsters arrived dressed in dazzling prince and princess outfits, their faces lighting up as they stepped into a world of enchantment created especially for them. From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, wonder and the magic of childhood dreams coming true.

Special princess carriages awaited the children outside the Town Hall, adding an extra touch of fairytale charm to what many described as a truly unforgettable experience. Inside, the venue had been transformed into a magical kingdom where children could take part in a range of enchanting activities.

Young guests enjoyed making their own magical wands, before taking their place on a grand throne and meeting real-life princesses inspired by beloved characters from The Walt Disney Company stories. The celebrations continued with a magical ball, where children danced, laughed and embraced the joy of the special day.

The event was organised by Councillor Sue Ospreay and her team, whose dedication created a truly heartwarming experience for families across the borough. The Princess Ball was held in support of the Mayor’s chosen charity, MCA Trust, with all proceeds from the event going towards supporting the charity’s work. Many of the children supported by the charity were among those enjoying the day’s celebrations.

Parents and carers spoke warmly of the event, describing it as a beautiful opportunity for children to feel special, valued and celebrated in a welcoming community setting.

The Princess Ball proved to be far more than just an event. It was a day of happiness, imagination and community spirit, bringing smiles to children’s faces and creating memories that will last a lifetime. For many of the young guests, it was a magical escape into a world where dreams truly do come true.
