Bulldozers Move In as Nine New Homes Planned Near Harold Wood Station.
Demolition work at the Peel Way site in Harold Wood is set to begin in early February 2026, paving the way for new family homes in the area.
The redevelopment, led by Mercury Land Holdings, will see the existing buildings replaced with nine new homes. The plans include four three bedroom properties with ground floor units benefitting from their own private gardens, four two bedroom homes and one one bedroom apartment.
Graham Williamson, Cabinet Lead for Development and Regeneration, said: “Removing outdated buildings at Peel Way is essential to unlocking new opportunities for housing. This is about creating spaces that work for local people and reflect the ambitions of our borough.”
Christopher Hobbs, Director at Mercury Land Holdings, added: “The programme will run until the summer of 2027 and we are excited to be starting works on the site to deliver family homes in a great location near Harold Wood Station. As with all our projects, neighbouring residents have already been written to, and we will of course keep them informed of progress throughout the build.”
The scheme aims to deliver much needed housing in the borough, with construction expected to continue through to summer 2027 as demand for family homes in the area continues to grow.
