Havering Council has marked the start of LGBT+ History Month by raising the Progress Pride Flag outside Havering Town Hall in Romford.

The flag was raised yesterday, 2 February, signalling the beginning of a month dedicated to celebrating the history, achievements and rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.

The Progress Pride Flag incorporates the traditional rainbow colours, alongside a chevron of black and brown stripes representing people of colour, and blue, pink and white to represent transgender people.

LGBT+ History Month is recognised nationally and focuses on claiming the past, celebrating the present and creating a more inclusive future for LGBT+ people.
