The Mercury’s Breakfast Club Delivers Bumper Care Package to Queen’s Hospital Baby Wards
Keen knitters from The Mercury’s Breakfast Club have been busy creating a heart-warming bumper care package for baby wards at Queen’s Hospital in Romford.
The group has lovingly knitted comfort squares, teddies and even “boobies” (yes!) which will be used across several antenatal and neonatal wards at the hospital. Each handmade item has been crafted with care to bring comfort and support to babies and new parents alike.

The Mercury’s Breakfast Club meets every Monday from 10am to 12pm in the shopping centre. At its heart, the group is all about connection, community and relaxation, while enjoying creative activities, learning new crafts, socialising and trying new things in a welcoming environment.
Members of the group recently presented the knitted donations to staff and nurses from Queen’s Hospital, where they were warmly and gratefully received.
Queen’s Hospital is home to one of the largest and busiest neonatal units in London, caring for vulnerable babies and taking great pride in providing a nurturing environment where they can grow, thrive and develop.
