The Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham, Margaret Mullane MP has been contacted by the National Grid on apprenticeship job opportunities for local people to become part of the UK’s energy future

In building the UK’s future energy system, the National Grid has a major opportunity to drive economic growth that brings real benefits to communities and businesses, including in Dagenham and Rainham.

Over the five years to 2029, National Grid is investing more than £30 billion in its networks to deliver the most significant transformation of the country’s electricity grid in generations. The opportunity is there to be part of this, as the company is once again recruiting for its apprentice programme.

With a wide variety of roles available – across engineering, commercial, and IT and digital programmes – the National Grid apprenticeship programme provides people of all ages and backgrounds with world-class training, hands-on experience, and clear pathways to rewarding careers in the energy sector.

Margaret told the Havering Daily:“National Grid apprenticeships allow people of all ages to play a vital role in delivering the UK’s future energy system. By combining studying and practical training at world class facilities, apprentices can develop new skills and build a meaningful career.

“I encourage anyone seeking a job that offers continuous training and development, to explore these apprenticeship schemes.”
