Exclusive: Andrew Rosindell MP Says Conservatives ‘Have Failed Romford And the Country’ As He Joins Reform.
Romford’s MP Andrew Rosindell has left the Conservative Party and defected to Reform, becoming the seventh Member of Parliament to do so. The decision marks a major political shift for Romford and brings to an end Mr Rosindell’s 45 year association with the Conservatives.
Mr Rosindell spoke to the Havering Daily, telling us
“I am very sad to leave the Conservative Party after 45 years but the country needs new leadership and a party that puts Britain first.”
Mr Rosindell stressed that it was his much loved home town of Romford and its people that helped him make this decision.
“I will always put Romford and its people first. I have listened to the people and I have seen how the Conservatives have failed both Romford and the country.”
He described the decision as a difficult one, adding:
“It was a difficult decision to make as I have grown up as a Conservative since 1981, but they have equally failed Romford and the country. They have failed to repair Romford.”
Mr Rosindell has now become the seventh MP to defect to Reform and said he believes radical change is needed.
“Romford and our country needs radical change and I believe that Nigel is the only one to lead Britain.”
He went on to stress that Romford and its future are always at the heart of his decisions.
“I know the people of Romford will understand my decision and why I am doing this. We need something new and different. We must have a government that puts Britain first. We cannot afford another five years of this terrible government.”
