Video: Armed Police In Harold Hill After Reports of Bomb Threats And Explosives: Man Arrested.
A man was arrested in Harold Hill yesterday following reports of what is believed to have been threats involving explosives.
The incident happened yesterday afternoon as police and firefighters attended the scene between Leamington Road and Redcar Road. Residents in nearby flats were evacuated as a precaution and taken to Drapers’ Academy on Settle Road for safety.
Images and reports from the scene showed armed police officers and a police bomb squad vehicle in attendance. Armed officers surrounded a property before calling the man out of his flat. It is believed he was instructed to remove all of his clothing except his underwear and step forward.
The area was sealed off by multiple police vehicles as officers dealt with the situation. The incident was brought to an end without any casualties and residents were later allowed to return to their homes.
There were reports at the time of bomb threats and possible grenades, however none have so far been confirmed by police.
Video footage shared with The Havering Daily shows the moment the man is told to come out of his property, remove his clothing and step outside with his hands above his head. The man was arrested by armed officers.
