Officers from the Havering Police’s Romford Town Centre Team have worked very hard throughout 2025 showing their professionalism, commitment to commuters, visitors, businesses and residents of Romford Town Centre. The teams have shown that they clearly make a difference to the safety of Romford.

The teams consisting of fifteen officers, two police sergeants and thirteen police constables, respond to calls, conduct numerous visible and plain clothes operations within the town centre, work in partnership with Havering Council, local businesses, security and Havering Business Improvement District to improve the area and strengthen professional relationships.

The team has conducted 1,242 searches, with a positive detection rate of 38 per cent, creating and progressing 1,030 investigations, showcasing thorough investigative work and commitment to resolving crime and providing the highest level of victim care.

Officers arrested 548 people, during the year 2025, for various criminal offences and those arrested received various outcomes. The amazing results demonstrate the team’s attention to detail, proactive and effective policing.

Police Sergeant Harris said:

“The results from 2025 show the outstanding work conducted daily by the Town Centre Team in Romford. The officers have demonstrated the ability to continually perform to an exceptional standard throughout the year, showcasing some outstanding proactive and intelligence led work to take dangerous criminals off the street. Each and every officer should be proud of their efforts to make Romford a safer place and I am immensely proud to lead a team of such hard working and dedicated officers who continue to push themselves every day, and we will continue to provide high profile presence, making Romford a safer, more vibrant place to visit.”

The teams should be proud of using collaborate approach to make Romford a safer, crime prevention and making an area a hostile environment for criminals to operate in, is a priority to the teams.
