Rainham Road North To Be Fully Resurfaced.
Margaret Mullane, the Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham has received news from Barking and Dagenham Council that Rainham Road North is to be resurfaced in full. This is in response to Margaret’s call for urgent repair works to be undertaken on this section of the borough’s principal road network.
The Dagenham and Rainham MP had contacted the Council with concerns about the condition of the road surface. Rainham Road North as well as being a major route for local motorists and commuters, it is also a vital artery for emergency vehicles in Dagenham and parts of Havering.
Margaret told the Havering Daily: “I had received complaints from people using the road. In fact, it wasn’t only motorists who had been in touch with me, local residents had contacted me to say that the rutted state of the road was causing real disturbances from noise nuisance with lorries and buses driving over the breaking up carriageway surfaces.
I knew this to be true from my own experience of regularly driving through Rainham Road North.
I made enquiries to Barking and Dagenham Council and was really pleased to get the response last week that the Borough’s Highway Improvement Programme will include full resurfacing of Rainham Road North by Spring this year.”
