Will Gallows Corner be ready in time? That is the question many Havering residents are now asking as frustration and cautious optimism collide.

Latest drone images of the Gallows Corner junction show slow progress, with major structural elements now in place and heavy machinery continuing to work across the site. The flyover structure can clearly be seen, signalling that this long awaited scheme is finally taking shape. However, the photos also highlight just how much work still remains before the junction can be fully completed and opened as planned.

Residents who have endured months of severe congestion, long tailbacks and knock on delays across Havering and neighbouring boroughs are watching the project closely. While progress is evident, the scale of the remaining work has reignited concerns about whether the scheme will genuinely be ready by its intended spring completion date.

The project involves complex engineering works, including the installation of the new flyover, road realignments, drainage, signalling upgrades and landscaping. These are not minor finishing touches but essential elements that must be completed safely and thoroughly before the junction can reopen to full traffic use.

Contractors remain on site with heavy plant and equipment, and activity levels suggest the project is still moving forward at pace. However, residents say that visibility of progress does not always translate into confidence, particularly after years of disruption and previous delays linked to weather, logistics and construction challenges.

For many, Gallows Corner has become a daily reminder of how vital infrastructure upgrades can also test community patience to its limits. Businesses, commuters and emergency services all stand to benefit once the junction is complete, but until then, the pressure is firmly on to deliver.

As spring approaches, the question remains unavoidable. Will Gallows Corner finally be finished on time, or are residents bracing themselves for further delays? For now, all eyes are on the works and the clock is ticking.
