By Jasper Searles – Junior Sports Reporter
Sport Report 13th to 15th December 2025
Hello, its Jasper, Junior Sports Reporter for The Havering Daily, and I welcome you to another article, where I look at this week’s football.
Please read on for my review of the weekend, including Hornchurch and the latest from the Premier League.
Another fantastic week….
From Derby Days to Lucky Wins to Liverpool and others gaining form back – this week had it all.
Thank you Havering.
13th December
Hornchurch FC
FA Trophy – 3rd Round
Dover Athletic 1 – 4 Hornchurch
Goalscorers:
Dover: G Wilkinson (80’)
Hornchurch: H Gibbs (25’), L Baptiste (45’ og), A Balanta (76’) and H Sandat (85’)
Hornchurch bounce back to winning ways, relief and delight from the fans.
It may be in the cup, but if they repeat this in the League, they will win it.
“It tastes like promotion.”
Premier League Round-Up
Chelsea 2 – 0 Everton
Goalscorers
Chelsea: C Palmer (21’) and M Gusto
Cole Palmer, an excellent display, an excellent player, no matter the day. He got subbed off, but that just shows the unbelievable squad depth the Chelsea have. Having players like Estevao to bring on, it doesn’t get much better.
Liverpool 2 – 0 Brighton & Hove Albion
Goalscorers
Liverpool: H Ekitike (1’ , 60’)
Ekitike scores double, the reds cause trouble, Liverpool unbeaten in five, Arne keeping his job, and the teams hopes alive.
Granted they played rubbish vs Leeds, after a 3-3 draw, with mistakes from the backline everywhere, but it is five unbeaten.
Burnley 2 – 3 Fulham
Goalscorers
Burnley: L Ugochukwu (21’) and O Sonne (86’)
Fulham: E Smith-Rowe (9’), C Bassey (31’) and H Wilson (58’)
Bassey was about to score goal of the season for Fulham, but the finish let him down. Unlike Harry Wilsons! Another belter from the Welshman. Burnley getting so close to a first win in 7.
Arsenal 2 – 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Goalscorers
Arsenal: S Johnstone (70’ og) and Y Mosquera (90+4’ og)
Wolves: T Arokodare (90’)
Two own goals from a still somehow winless* Wolves. Two late goals from both sides means this scoreline for the Gunners and Wolverhampton Wanderers. Arsenal remain top of the Premier League.
*Wolves have won this season once, but only in the cup, against West Ham.
14th December
Crystal Palace 0 – 3 Manchester City
Goalscorers
Man City: E Haaland (41’, 89’ pen) and P Foden (69’)
D, D, D, D, DOMINATION! A Double from that man Haaland, again. The Norwegian might, no not might -probably will, break his own record of most goals in a season in the Premier League.
He is now the quickest player to 100 Premier League goals. Could he break Alan Shearers record of most goals in the Premier League ever? Maybe.
Nottingham Forest 3 – 0 Tottenham Hotspur
Goalscorers
Forest: C Hudson-Odoi (28’, 50’) and I Sangare (79’)
“Forest won 2 in a row” & “Frank Out”.
Both fanbases had a lot of words after that game. If you are a Tottenham fan, would you want Thomas Frank sacked?
The argument is Thomas Frank ruined the club, but I think the club ruined him, he was such a likeable character at Brentford, but I don’t have a soft spot for him anymore. Sorry if you’re a Forest fan that the topic wasn’t on your thrilling win.
Sunderland 1 – 0 Newcastle United
Goalscorers
Sunderland: N Woltemade (46’ og)
Writing this is a chore, so was watching Mackem Mukiele. The Right Back broke Dan Burs’ ribs, Mukiele didn’t go for the ball, NO RED CARD. Let’s not even bring Ballard up!
But on the Newcastle topic, yes Mukiele and Ballard were dirty, but it showed they knew what the Derby means to the fans. I have never seen less fight in this Newcastle United team, and on Derby Day, what a disgrace!
In better news (not quite Premier League but I need to be happy), holders of the Carabao cup, Newcastle, won against Fulham 2-1. Wissa scored on his first start; local lad Miley scored in the dying seconds.
West Ham United 2 – 3 Aston Villa
Goalscorers
West Ham: Mateus Fernandes (1’) and J Bowen (24’)
Aston Villa: K Mavropanos (9’ og) and M Rodgers (50’, 79’)
West Ham loose to their so-called bogey team Aston Villa, it’s not a bogey team, Villa are just better – let’s just face it. Especially with their current form, where they have 9 wins in a row! From being the only team in the top 5 leagues not to score a goal earlier in the season, to this.
Brentford 1 -1 Leeds United
Goalscorers
Brentford: J Henderson (70’)
Leeds: D Calvert-Lewin (82’)
Jordan Henderson scores his first goal for the Bees, mind you he’s led by example. He celebrated like Jota too.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues his good form for Leeds; this match ends in a cagey draw.
15th December
Manchester United 4 – 4 AFC Bournemouth
Goalscorers
Man Utd: A Diallo (13’), Casemiro (45’+4), B Fernandes (77’), M Cunha (79’)
Bournemouth: A Semenyo (40’), Evanilson (46’), Tavernier (52’) and J Kroupi (84’)
Monday night football delivered, an 8-goal thriller. Where do I start?
For Bournemouth, Eli Kroupi Jr – that young gentleman has one bright future. Subbed on, scored.
For Manchester United, Amad Diallo also has a bright future, he also scored. It was also a bright night for the veterans, Casemiro has revived his career this season.
No Goal for Mason Mount! But another for Bournemouth’s Semenyo, who may well be off to a bigger club in January.
I will be back next week for another round up, as Top of League Hornchurch take on Enfield Town in the National League South – with the Premier League bringing us exciting games like Newcastle v Chelsea, Manchester City v West Ham and Spurs v Liverpool.
Can all the Managers (Thomas Frank) survive another week?
Can I just add, it was good to see all of your opinions in the comments last week, we are aiming for more of the same.

Frank out ( shouldn’t have got the gig in thw first place ) but the problems at Tottenham run far deeper than the manager. Change of ownership is the answer.
Man Utd – Bournemouth was one of the best games the premier league has seen for years.
Another great report Jasper👍
Frank out, for sure. I’ve never seen less fight in a Spurs side in my life. I agree with the comment above, the Utd game was electric.
Sunderland are just a better team than Newcastle unfortunately. Top report.
