Miracle Rescue By Harold Hill Deer Aid As Fox Survives Being Trapped in Tiny Gap.
Harold Hill Deer Aid are a team of truly outstanding volunteers and a vital asset to our community. Yesterday, the team, led by Shantel, saved the life of a beautiful little fox who had his head trapped in a tiny gap. Even Essex Wildlife Hospital cannot believe the poor little soul is still alive.
The fox had managed to get his head stuck in a gap just 4cm wide. Against all odds, he didn’t suffocate or lose blood flow, a truly miraculous outcome.
It took a huge effort from the HHDA team to free him, but once rescued, he was quickly rushed into care. Amazingly, initial checks showed minimal damage, with x-rays clear and the fox still bright and mobile.
Unfortunately, swelling is starting to develop, which is common with injuries like this, but he is now on a careful course of treatment and medication to aid recovery.
A massive thank you to Shantel for her incredible work in getting this little boy to safety.
This fox’s story is a powerful reminder of the difference passionate local wildlife heroes make every day.
