Hornchurch Charity Supporting Children With ADHD Makes Urgent Appeal for Community Help
ADDUP, a long-standing Hornchurch-based charity supporting children and young people with ADHD, has issued an urgent appeal for help following severe funding challenges.
The charity is known locally for its vital work providing safe, understanding spaces for children and teenagers with ADHD, many of whom struggle to access mainstream clubs. ADDUP’s services have long included after-school activities, a Saturday drama group, and school holiday programmes designed to help young people learn how to manage their ADHD in a supportive environment.
Alongside this, the charity also delivers training for families, offers ADHD training for schools, and provides both telephone and face-to-face advice for those needing guidance.
However, after a significant number of funding applications were recently rejected, ADDUP has been forced to drastically reduce the activities it can offer. Staff and volunteers continue to apply to multiple funders, but concerns are growing about the charity’s ability to sustain its full range of support without wider community involvement.
